I'm always curious and kind of excited when books that i've read get the movie treatment, of course, there's always the disappointment of seeing how they ruined the book, but sometimes the result is quite satisfactory (i have yet to see a movie as well adapted to the book as 'The Virgin Suicides' by Sofia Coppola, it's simply perfect). Now it's time (again, since their novels have been turned into films or tv movies before) for the Brontë sisters and their acclaimed novels 'Jane Eyre' and 'Wuthering Heights'. Out of the two, i loved the first one, 'Wuthering Heights' was nice but it took me three times to start reading it (the plot and characters are so confusing) and i honestly expected so much more from this book.
Looking at the trailers, 'Jane Eyre' seems to be the most loyal one to the book, with some exact lines from it, but maybe 'Wuthering Heights' is the one that has caught my attention, Emily Brontë described some powerful images in the novel, and that's what we can see in the trailer with the same exact mood, leading me to believe that this one is going to be the most interesting and well done of the two. Still, we are just looking at trailers (WH premieres next month in Spain while JE has no release date) so i hope it doesn't take too long to see the result and compare both of them.
Also, this reminded me of a Brontë sisters' movie proyect that there was some time ago, with Michelle Williams, Bryce Dallas Howard and Evan Rachel Wood attached to play Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë. The proyect faded but i think it would be quite interesting to get a look into their lives so let's hope after these two movies get released, the proyect gets back on track again.
