Oscar de la Renta SS2011

A new old designer, a new old collection, a one taste we grew used to it but we still love it because over the years de la Renta knew which spice to add to his work to keep it look interesting and beautiful. This spring/summer collection came with the same old styles but still you can't but love it.

In the show some very interesting pieces were shown specially the gowns. De la Renta knows who his customer is and he knows how to make her happy. One amazing piece (my favorite) is a cocktail dress in black and white. Other designs looked very familiar that i can't tell if i like them or not and one very specific dress jumped in i don't really know where from, a pencil dress with white fur collar.

Karlie Kloss opened the show in a raw linen trench with some  appliqués and a bouquet bursting from her ostrich tote telegraphing that the main theme here would be flowers. No it is not what you thought, you won't see dresses inspired of flowers, you will see applique of what you can call 3-D peonies in ombré pinks. The tweeds, meanwhile, were terrific and gave a rich, substantial texture to his daywear, which was consummately ladified and refined. The ruffles were big, the skirts even bigger and boleros were puffy merengues swaddling the models.

His gowns i believe should be seen on the red carpet (ok not the last one). Now i leave you with some photos from the show of pieces i like.

The photos above are for dresses and looks i like. Will show you now my favorite look from the entire show (not counting the gowns) and then looks i do not really like and then the gowns.

Unclear looks:

And here come the gowns, some are pretty nice, others are over worked and others are too flowerish that i can't think about anything else but a bed sheet or even a bed cover.
