Red Carpet Jewels: 2013 Emmy Awards

Sunday's Emmy Awards provided a great opportunity for jewelry watching.  Here are some highlights from the red carpet.

Carrie Underwood was draped in more than 152 carats of Johnathan Arndt diamonds - the highest priced bling of the night.  She wore an $18 million diamond necklace and a matching pair of $3.2 million diamond studs. The jeweler also designed a $4 million pear-shaped diamond solitaire ring for Underwood’s right hand.

Sofia Vergara's jewelry was second in line for the highest priced bling of the evening.  The star’s Lorraine Schwartz gems totaled 161 carats and added up to more than $7 million! Those platinum earrings, set with rubies, sapphires and Colombian emeralds weighed in at a whopping 100 carats.  For finger bling, she added a 40-carat Colombian emerald-and-diamond ring and a 21-carat Asscher-cut diamond ring.

Big rings were trending - like this Chanel tourmaline ring worn by Zooey Dechanel.  Ryan Seacrest described it as "the size of a planet."
The most unusual piece of the night was the 19th Century emerald and diamond salamander brooch from Fred Leighton pinned to the back of the dress worn by Anna Faris.
The biggest statement piece was the Lorraine Schwartz emerald and diamond necklace worn by Maria Menounos.

Sarah Hyland embraced green, too, with her Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
All in all, it was a great night for jewelry watching!
